We really enjoyed our stay. The staff are very welcoming and kind. The rooms are clean and charming. There are also a few choices for outdoor or indoor seating for relaxing and visiting. The house is walking distance from restaurants and the river. We also really enjoyed taking the golf cart out to explore the community.

Charming and comfortable bed and breakfast located in the heart of historic St Marys, Georgia. Each bedroom is themed and decorated accordingly. I have had the pleasure of staying at the Goodbread twice now and am already calculating when I’ll be able to work out time for a third stay. My four legged travel companion gives the Goodbread 5 Woofs out of five! A delicious breakfast around the table with new friends is delightful! The heart and soul of the Goodbread is the owner and operator, Mardja.Thank you Mardja for always exceeding expectation and providing a home away from home in tranquil St Marys!

This was great place to stay. They have activities are open to pets and the staff good not have been nicer. All kinds of things to do. Well worth the money. Reasonable for everything they offer. If I could give them a 10 I definitely would.

I cannot stress enough how wonderful this place is! We didn’t know what to expect, and we honestly cannot think of anything that our hostess did not provide for us, making our stay absolutely wonderful! There were 5 of us to accommodate, and Mardja (the hostess and owner), did a great job doing so! From the beautiful homemade breakfasts in the morning, to having a golf cart available for local eateries and such, to making reservations and plans for us, so that we could enjoy all that St. Mary’s has to offer. She did it all with grace, and a real devotion towards making sure her guests were happy. After learning that I cannot eat dairy, she even made a trip to the store to stock up on nondairy items so that she could offer me a beautiful nondairy breakfasts for the remainder of our stay. The B&B is clean and charming. Big porches to relax and enjoy the evenings at the end of the day, or in the mornings while enjoying a cup of coffee. Walking distance to excellent restaurants offering live entertainment and fresh seafood, as well as shops, and the ferry to ride to Cumberland Island. If we return to the area, we will most definitely stay there again. Cannot think of a better place to stay!

This is a must visit bed and breakfast! The hospitality of the owner Marja was by far AMAZING! She went above and beyond to make our visit a special one! I brought my mom to have a mother daughter weekend getaway and it was the best experience for the both of us! The breakfast was homemade and delicious! The rooms are very clean and beautiful scenery of the flowers all over when you first walk in. Can’t wait to have another girls weekend so we can come back and visit here again!!!!

We had a delightful time at the good bread house. My son loved the pancakes and they even had a gluten-free alternative for my daughter. The hostess was lovely, And they let us drive a golf cart around to the local attractions. The hostess knew the best places to have dinner and gave us a great suggestion where we could eat out on the porch while watching the sunset.

A friend and I arranged to stay at the Good Bread House over the most recent Memorial Day weekend. In the months and weeks leading up to our stay, Mardja was very communicative and helpful. She booked our ferry tickets to Cumberland Island and made helpful suggestions regarding our upcoming trip. Due to holiday traffic, we realized we would arrive later than planned. I called Mardja to let her know; she was so sweet and assured us that it would not be a problem. We arrived to find two other guests with their dogs on the front porch. We had a short chat and pet the dogs before entering the Inn and having a quick peak in the parlor, then settling into the Lucy and Desi room. The room and bathroom were wonderful; immaculate, clean, and well thought out, with everything we needed – including small bottles of shampoo, conditioner, soap, and bottled waters for drinking.
Shortly after we settled in, Mardja arrived, introduced herself. Dressing the part, she wore an elegant black flapper dress and head band, fit for a party. She was warm, and hospitable, and absolutely lovely. She provided suggestions for dinner and we discussed lunches for the next day’s adventure, which were provided for just $10 p/p.
After a quick dinner down the street at Captain Seagles, we returned to our room where we enjoyed a peaceful night’s sleep in very nice and comfortable beds. We woke the next morning early and we were served pancakes, sausages, and orange juice in the dining room before we were scooted off by golfcart to the Cumberland Island ferry with our lunches perfectly packed in small individual lunch coolers.
After returning from the island, Mardja greeted us once again at the Inn once again and asked about our day. She was just such a pleasure to talk to and very helpful in deciding where to dine for the evening.
On our final day at the Inn, we woke early and departed earlier than planned in hopes of avoiding holiday traffic. We didn’t have the opportunity to say goodbye to Mardja, but she called us on our return home and thanked us for staying at the Inn.

This bed and breakfast was the ABSOLUTE best I have stayed at. Mardja is a fantastic hostess. She doesn’t miss any minute details to make your stay extremely enjoyable. The rooms were extra clean, large and very comfortable and the breakfasts were so delicious. She was so thoughtful as she baked chocolate brownies for my birthday. The veranda was very comfortable and we enjoyed many relaxing moments with my friends. If you want to be pampered, I highly recommend Goodbread House Bed & Breakfast Inn.

The good bread house is the most wonderful place to stay that we have ever stayed at. Marjorie, the owner, is wonderful in every way possible. Kind and generous to say the very least. I hope that we have an opportunity to stay there again. If you stay there you will not regret it and you will be very grateful that you took this advice. 👍😁

This is a quintessential Bed and Breakfast . Decor, ambiance, and hosting are all in line for the highest level of satisfaction. The breakfast was amazing, and the desire to accommodate was the best. Must pick this place if you are looking. Easy walk to St Mary’s Riverfront, and the Cumberland Island Ferry. They also offer free use of their Golf Cart to explore the streets.

Great place to stay!
“Everyone was so friendly, the place is beautiful with lots of historical things. Loved our room, Food was good, they even took us to our tour on the golf cart and collected lunch for us to take along. Their location is perfect too. We will definitely return.”
